Shawn and Lisa met during high school and danced together on the “Orchesis” dance company for Mountain View High School. They were married in 2001 and currently live in Orem.
Shawn began dancing ballroom when he was a sophomore in high school. He danced for the UVU Summer Ballroom Team and was the coach for the Orem High School Ballroom Team for several years. He currently coaches a youth ballroom team at SCERA Center for the Arts.
Lisa’s love of dance began at age 5 and continued through her first two years of college. Her training was predominately modern dance, but has recently tried to become a ballroom dance convert. She enjoys dancing with her husband on a regular basis; however, she is often caught trying to lead!
Shawn and Lisa feel privileged to teach adult ballroom classes because dance has allowed them to more fully participate at parties, weddings and other events. They want others to have the same opportunity to wow their friends and family members with their ballroom skills. It has been their recent privilege to teach ballroom classes for the US Army Marriage Retreat Program for recently returned soldiers and their spouses to reconnect.
